One Chelsea player looking forward to Seville return vs Porto more than others

The Blues will play both legs of their Champions League quarter final against Porto in the Spanish city next month

It was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Chelsea will play both legs of their Champions League quarter final tie against Porto at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan in Seville next month.

That means the Blues will return to the site of their thumping 4-0 win over Sevilla earlier this season in the competition when Frank Lampard was in charge, only this time with Thomas Tuchel overseeing things having replaced the axed Lampard in January.

It is a somewhat confusing decision for both matches to be played in Spain.

It’s been a regular occurrence this season for UEFA to move matches to deal with COVID-19 restrictions and Portugal had been on the UK red list for travel between the two countries.

That meant a 10-day quarantine in a government-approved hotel for anyone jetting in from the country to the UK. However, that was no longer the case on March 19 as Portugal was taken off the red list.

In the last 16 of the competition, Chelsea played Atletico Madrid in Bucharest for what was the Spanish side’s “home” fixture. The second leg was then played in London, yet both of the quarter final matches will be played in Spain.

Spain lifted travel restrictions on English arrivals on Tuesday meaning that both legs can be played in Seville.

In any case, that means a Chelsea player with very fond memories of the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan will be making a return to the Spanish stadium – Olivier Giroud.

The French striker scored all four goals as Chelsea beat Sevilla 4-0 in the Champions League group stage in Spain on a famous night for the Blues and for the veteran frontman.

Chelsea were in the midst of a 17-game unbeaten run under Lampard’s watch when they played in Spain in December and won by the emphatic scoreline despite enjoying only 44 per cent possession across the 90 minutes.

Sevilla were also unbeaten in 14 home games in European competitions before Lampard’s Blues rocked up to their backyard and put them to the sword.

In his usual understated manner post-match, Giroud said of his four-goal haul: “When you win 4-0 away in the Champions League it’s a great feeling,” Giroud told BT Sport. “We took the game on the front foot and we’ve been efficient up front.

“I didn’t know it before two years ago, that you call it the perfect hat-trick, it was perfect, plus the penalty. It’s nice, I will try to carry on like that to finish the good job of the team, it’s always nice to be in the club’s history.

“We play football to mark our own history, I’m pleased to help the team.”

Giroud scored a spectacular overhead kick in the last 16 tie against Atletico Madrid in Bucharest as the Blues saw off the La Liga leaders 3-0 over the two legs but he has not been a regular since Tuchel arrived at the club.

You suspect he will be champing at the bit to play a part at the scene of one his greatest individual performances on April 7 and 13 when Chelsea target a spot in the last four and a matchup with either Real Madrid or Liverpool in the semi finals.

Breaking: What God told me about Sunday Igboho, Nnamdi Kanu – Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has revealed what God told him about the Yoruba Fighter Freedom, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho and the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

The cleric said that God revealed to him that Nigeria will break up, but not through Nnamdi Kanu or Sunday Igboho.

The cleric said some powerful forces like the spirit of Nigeria’s nationalist; Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa would lead to Nigeria’s peaceful break-up, Daily Post reports.

He warned that if Nigerians fail to appease Tafa-Balewa’s spirit and these other powerful forces, the country will break up peacefully.

Primate Ayodele, however, urged the government not to ignore the cries of IPOB and those agitating for the Oduduwa Republic because that would also lead to the country’s disintegration.

According to Ayodele: “The spirit of Igbo is no more in Nigeria, and since their spirit is no more in Nigeria, the country will break peacefully.

“Some people like Tafa Balewa were killed, the spirit of Tafawa Balewa is fighting, why will we not appease his spirit? Instead, we say Nigeria should be in unity; we can’t be in peace or unity again.

“Nigeria will just be facing one problem to another. There will always be problems and that is the fact.

“We need to realize that Nigeria needs many prayers to survive this situation and for sustainability. The moment we ignore God, then the country will collapse.

“It’s not this IPOB, Oduduwa, that will break Nigeria. There is a powerful force that will break the country if we don’t appease it.

“If we don’t do what is necessary, Nigeria will break. Many people don’t want it, but when you go to the divine realm, do you know what is going on there? Many people have died as a result of injustice in Nigeria, so what is going to happen is that Nigeria will break peacefully without fighting or making noise.

“IPOB are making points, the people of Oduduwa Republic are also making points, and if the government neglects these, it will happen suddenly.”

“Nnamdi Kanu is not the person who will actualize this, not that he will die, but the thing will happen in a surprising way.

“Everybody will keep quiet, but some forces will stand to be fighting it, saying no. Two things are involved: either Nigeria is restructured, which we know will not favour many people or break up. It’s either we go back to true federalism, or we break up; any of these issues is going to be better for the country, so said by God not by man.

“Another thing is that only God can stop Nigeria from breaking up; the pathfinders of this country are tired of our co-existence.
